Another excellent volume from editor/composer Sergei Wolfenson's extensive pedagogical series. We've previously seen the 14th volume, from 1984.

EDIT: Changed the file name and title back to 'Vol. 1', as I've got another book in the same series called 'Vol. 2'. Sorry for the confusion!

Here's the first 'junior' volume in a series of books published for music school students between the early 70s and the early 90s. There are separate series for 'middle' and 'senior' students that were published in parallel to this. A lot of the music is very basic, but I enjoy these volumes as a means to learn about many of the USSR's lesser-known composers, many of whom led prolific careers outside of their pedagogical contributions.

Pieces, piano music for Children's Music School (D.M.Sh.) - Junior Classes, Vol. 1 (pub. 1972)

Rafik Vafovich SALMANOV (Bashkortostan) - Salavat (Bashkir folk song)
Victor Georgyevich SHAFRANNIKOV (Karakalpakstan) - Pieces (2); 1. Cuckoo, 2. Catch Up (no bio available)
Mikhail Yakovlevich MAGIDENKO - Pieces (3); 1. The Blacksmith, 2. Jump Rope, 3. On Stilts
Yuri Mikhailovich SLONOV - Pieces (2); 1. On the Lawn, 2. Waltz
Vladimir Anatolyevich PIKUL - Pieces (2); 1. A Sad Song, 2. Juggler and Clown
Lev Markovich BIRNOV - Pieces (3); 1. Wisla (Polish folk song), 2. Story, 3. Walk in the Forest
Tariel Lukich BAKRADZE (Georgia) - Minx
Yeygeny Mikhailovich BOTYAROV - Song
Alexander Sergeyevich KLYUCHARYOV (Tatarstan) - Raliyabanu (Tatar folk song)
Vytautas LAURUŠAS (Lithuania) - Pieces (2); 1. Memory of the Dance, 2. Complaint (bio at https://www.mic.lt/en/database/classica ... /laurusas/ )
Yevgeniya Iosifovna YAKHNINA - March (bio at https://translate.google.com/translate? ... rev=search )
Kaly MOLDOBASANOV (Kyrgyzstan) - Dance of the Goat
Sofia Nathanovna NISS - Musical Pictures (3); 1. Distillation, 2. Doll's Waltz, 3. Camping
Sofia Nathanovna NISS - Pieces (7); 1. Children's Whims, 2. Song, 3. Rondo, 4. Yellowed Leaves, 5. Meditation, 6. In the Forest, 7. The Birds Fly Away

Pieces, piano music for Children's Music School (D.M.Sh) - Junior Classes, Vol. 1 (pub. 1972).pdf
