Hi drblackguy

Grateful if you would use the current threads for requests - I'll get this moved to the Russian & Soviet thread...............but in the meanwhile, copy duly attached.

Another item found on the internet that might be of interest. Vladimir Zolotukhin is a Ukrainian composer who studied at the Kharkov Conservatory under Dmitry Klebanov. Alfor shared a volume of Soviet-era sonatas that includes Zolotukhin's first sonata, composed in 1970.

The only work of his I've heard is his first symphony, which can be heard at:

Another good-sized Soviet-era children's collection, for junior- and middle-level students. A detailed bio and works list can be seen at:
https://translate.google.com/translate? ... rev=search

Having seen a number of chamber scores, including his three string quartets, I'd really like to hear some of this composer's music performed.

Here is an interesting collection of junior-level pieces that's entirely aimed at highlighting composers from the various republics of the RSFSR (today's Russian Federation), quite a few of whom were unknown to me. The editor of this volume is composer/educator Vladimir Blok. Blok's note at the front reads:

'A collection of children's piano pieces by composers of all autonomous republics of the Russian Federation is published here for the first time. Most of the pieces were written by the authors specifically for this publication. Fingering, as well as pedalization and dynamic designations indicated in parentheses, were affixed by the editor.'

Thanks to the generous person (or persons?) at Ale07.ru, here's the eighth volume of this Soviet children's album series, i.e. the one that was missing when the rest of the 14-volume series was posted here a while back. It appears that somebody passed along the series of books that Relative so generously shared (and which Jim Faston tidied up) to their site as well.
