Valery Zabal’ny. Born 1941, Lazorevo station, Leninsky district, Khabarovsk Territory. In 1947, the family moved to Ukraine. Teacher and composer.

Graduated from the Lugansk College of Music in 1961, and from the conductor and orchestra faculty of the Krasnodar Institute of Culture in 1974.

Taught at music schools in Ukraine. Since 1996, Zavalny lives in Yelets and teaches at Yelets State University (Professor, Department of Choral Conducting and Musical Instruments in 2007).

Has compose music since 1970 with over 300 works of instrumental music (for button accordion, accordion, and piano), plus vocal romances.
