Request for:
Sonia's Song. Old Russian Folk-Song from the Ukraine, words by G. West. Transcribed (for voice or piano solo) by A. Siloti, after A. Arensky's harmonization, to my knowledge there was a Carl Fischer publication of this in 1923, that's about all I know, I saw some chatter that hinted there was a piano roll in existence somewhere of Siloti's playing of this but only parts of the facts want to line up (no mention of Arenksy's harmonization of the tune), there is a youtube video with some hits for this crediting the actual tune to Riabinin here, but I am not certain if it is the same work (hence the request):

thanks very much for these, interesting indeed! it further adds to the mystery, amazon lists this as an out of print C. Fischer (1923) score (an entry similar to the many when at one time there may have been a used copy for sale by a 'seller' through the amazon marketplace), now if it is the same work as those videos or not (was it Alexander or Mary A) or perhaps the two works are different, an Arensky Fantasy OP 48, and an Siloti transcription of Arensky's harmonization of the Ryabinin theme.....super interesting!

I found an entry for it in Worlcat under "Ziloti, Aleksandr Il'ich" with the title listed as "Sonia's Song. Old Russian Folk-Song from the Ukraine, words by G. West. Transcribed (for voice or piano solo) by A. Siloti, after A. Arensky's harmonization." The British Library holds a copy. Interesting that it wasn't included in "The Alexander Siloti Collection" that CF issued in 2003.

This is a wonderful find. Siloti's transcriptions are all top drawer and this is no exception.

There are several other works by this composer available, courtesy of Malcolm and Alfor, including another set of variations on a piece by Haydn. Dargomyzhsky, of course, was an important Russian composer in the mid-1800s.
