I must echo the many thanks to caostotale for unearthing these volumes of wonderful children's pieces. It boggles the mind that there are so many volumes yet to be discovered, seeing that vol. 17 has just appeared.

Here's another volume of children's sets, featuring some more unsung composers. To the best of my knowledge, this is the only music by Tsorionti (or any Ossetian composer) that saw publication aside from that string quartet movement seen in another thread. Thanks once again to Relative:

Children's Albums by Soviet Composers, for piano, vol. 12 (Young Pianist's Library) (1989)

Emin Aspetovich ARISTAKESYAN (ARISTAKESIAN) (Armenia) - Miniatures (12) on Armenian folk themes
Mikhail Alekseyevich OSOKIN - Bagatelles (10), op. 75; 1. Grey Clouds, 2. Souvenir, 3. Rainy Day, 4. Lydian Dance Tune, 5. Evening Thought, 6. Echoes of the Theater, 7. Jadu ('In the East') 8. Teardrop, 9. Simple Speech, 10. From the Distant Past (bio at http://translate.googleusercontent.com/ ... EWORw3Cw0w )
Rezvan Kaurbekovich TSORIONTI (Ossetia) - Pieces (10); 1. Lullaby I, 2. Contest, 3. Sad Song, 4. Canon, 5. Lullaby II, 6. Dance I, 7. Song, 8. Fairy Tale (Skazka), 9. Dance II, 10. March (bio at http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... bih%3D1020 )
Viktoria Borisovna YAGLING - Pieces (6); 1. A Visit with Schumann, 2. Mischievous Gnome, 3. Silent Snow, 4. Strange Mazurka, 5. Game, 6. My Song (bio at http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... bih%3D1020 )
Olga Mikhailovna MAGIDENKO - Entertaining Etudes (5); 1. Mosquito, 2. Clowns, 3. Dew on the Grass, 4. Caravan, 5. Blues (bio for her and her father at http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... bih%3D1020 )
Max Borisovich MAZOR (Ukraine) - Suite; 1. Prelude, 2. Bylina, 3. Dance, 4. Fairy Tale (Skazka), 5. Etude (bio at http://translate.googleusercontent.com/ ... Q8NBBVWrbA )
Yefim Samuilovich ADLER (Kazakhstan) - Pieces (11); including 1. Sicilienne, 6. Toccata, 7. Menuet, 10. Naigrush, all other pieces are untitled (bio at http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... bih%3D1020 )

Here's an early work by this somewhat more well-known Leningrad composer:

Boris Ivanovich TISHCHENKO
Suite no. 2, for piano, op. 6 (1957)
Tishchenko - Suite no. 2, for piano, op. 6 (1957).pdf

...wasn't able to find biographical details on this composer, but quite a few of his works saw publication during the 1970s-80s:

There's a set of preludes/fugues from around the same time period as this, posted a while ago in the Scriabinists thread:

Alexander Georgyevich FLYARKOVSKY
Piano Sonata (1980-82)

...returning to the pedagogical volumes, here is a set of works for 'middle' level classes of young pianists (as opposed to the volumes 16 and 17 above, both 'junior' collections, and the 'album' collections, which are of a completely different series... :geek: now that nobody's confused, eh! :geek: ). I will continue seeking out the composers' bios and will try not to repeat it for those whose works show up in multiple collections, a somewhat common occurrence in these books:

Children's Pieces by Soviet Composers, for piano - Middle Class, vol. 13 (1983)

Almaz Zakirovich MOSASYPOV (Tatarstan) - Pieces (4); 1. A Wonderful Day, 2. A Bad Dream, 3. Sad Song, 4. March (bio at http://translate.googleusercontent.com/ ... VcPY-_d9mw )

More than seconded! These are indeed very rare scores, and it's really nice to have more than one piece by some composers, so we can really discover what the composer was capable of. I never would have guessed some years ago that the piano repertoire could be so gigantic. It really seems endless.

Regards.

Request for:
Sonia's Song. Old Russian Folk-Song from the Ukraine, words by G. West. Transcribed (for voice or piano solo) by A. Siloti, after A. Arensky's harmonization, to my knowledge there was a Carl Fischer publication of this in 1923, that's about all I know, I saw some chatter that hinted there was a piano roll in existence somewhere of Siloti's playing of this but only parts of the facts want to line up (no mention of Arenksy's harmonization of the tune), there is a youtube video with some hits for this crediting the actual tune to Riabinin here, but I am not certain if it is the same work (hence the request):

Alfor has already treated us with a collection of works and a concerto reduction by this composer, who passed on earlier this year. According to the 'Works' tab on this webpage, he composed some 300 or more works in his career, including lots of piano pieces. These may or may not be two of the nine fantasias written after 'The Little Prince.' It's hard to know for sure:
