Wow, thank you! I always enjoy exploring Leybach! Anything else that you would find interesting to share would also be appreciated, especially elegies or nocturnesque pieces. ;)

Side note: does anyone know of any "picture" (sketch/painting) of Leybach in existence?

IMSLP has five nocturnes and a meditation.
Picture of him seems very hard to find. Maybe because he led a kind of provincial life in Strasbourg first, and then in Toulouse, mainly focussed on his activities as church organist and choir master. I read a review saying that his organ music playing was quite deep and serious, and his piano compositions seem to be a derivative activity to his actual life.

I am pleased that you like the Leybach postings Jean-Seb.
I have a large amount of Ketterer I can post if you are interested.

Best wishes.

Peter.

Hi Peter,
Yes, I like also Ketterer, for the same reasons as I like Leybach; not because he was Alsatian too, but his piano writing is well done for intermediate players like me. Before you scan, you may want to check it is not already available on IMSLP or even on the former PP, because I remember we shared some already. But he wrote nearly 300 opp. so it is sure we have not them all yet.
By the way, I was sceptical about qualifying Leybach as a pupil of Chopin but with Ketterer, we'll have definitely to migrate to the Salon music thread!

J. Leybach. It is time to revive this thread, so here is Fantaisie Brillante
on Gille et Gillotin by Leybach. His Opus 179.
