I do have one more unknown piece...let's see if we can beat Shazam!

Kind of an unknown romantic waltz... thank you all in advance!

There is obviously a mistake or a joke behind. The work cannot be 19th Century as labelled and does not sound romantic at all. Not the right track ?

Feels more like an overture to a musical or operetta. 1930s-ish ... Krenek?

Is this the album it's supposed to come from?

supposedly but I think that it is very mis-labelled. it doesn't make sense. :( and yes, it does have a sound from the early 20th century. I will try to cross-check with some Krenek! Thank you for the hint and thank you for checking on this one! I did try Shazam and it was stumped too!

Dear friends,
I found a variation work (12 Variations after the theme) for piano in my collection without a named composer. It drives me crazy, but I cannot find out who has written the piece. According to the title, I think it must be a Slovak. And Kabalevsky wrote a set of easy variations on the same subject called "on a Slovak folk song". His set has the name "Grey Day" variations.
But who the heck has written THIS piece??
I already went through the Czech & Slovak thread of PiPhi. None there.

Any help or hint is muchly appreciated!!

Are there any clues in the PDF's document properties?

What composers do we know with daughter Eve/Eva? ( Not Dvorak, I've checked! )

According to Mr Google, the language is Slovak and is translated as “I dedicate the variations to my dear Eve” so Eve is not necessarily a daughter..
