Thanks for this hint. Sadly no Petrucci category for him...

Gresak doesn't have any piano variations listed in his works.
Jan Cikker has :
  • Piano Variations on a Slovak Folksong (1973)
  • Theme with Variations Op.14-1 (1935)
but they don't seem to match (based on recording samples)

There are other possibilities to work through on the Slovakia Music Centre database: https://hc.sk/en/o-slovenskej-hudbe/die ... k=04010101 e.g.
  • Ivan Konecny: Twelve Variations on the Folk Song Myjava, Myjava (1977)
  • Juraj Jartim: Variations on a Slovak Folk Song Op.4

@Ferruccio did you check the PDF doc properties, or do you just have the single page image?

Dear piano lovers and friends,

the "unkown score" is definitely the first page of Rudolf Ország's 12 variácií na tému Dobrú noc (12 variations on a theme of folk song "Good night"), published by Matica Slovenská in 1944.

Yours trully,

Great detective work! This is what the work sounds like:-

(The closest match I got was Oskar Nedbal's Op1.)

It drives me crazy, but I cannot find out who has written the piece. According to the title, I think it must be a Slovak. And Kabalevsky wrote a set of easy variations on the same subject called "on a Slovak folk song". His set has the name "Grey Day" variations.
But who the heck has written THIS piece??
Sounds nice. Could you share the whole thing?
