Unfortunately, Des Balkans on IMSLP is not Igre i pesme Sa Balkana, it's Sa Balkana suite.
Igre i pesme consists of 14 small pieces in two volumes, not 4 like Sa Balkana.
I'll try Croatian Music Centre, the music centres I tried were not very cooperative. Thanks for the contact

zeniyama wrote:I noticed that nobody on this thread has mentioned the Greek composer Skalkottas yet. I'm kind of curious what y'all think about him; myself, I rather enjoy his music. Does anybody else share this sentiment?
Listening to Dave Hurwitz' YT channel this morning, I heard him cover Ipiritikos from Skalkottas' orchestral suite 36 Greek Dances.
I wondered if any had been reduced for piano, and found only this liner note from a recording:
the first-ever recording of any of his works, a 1949 aircheck of two pieces by Greek pianist Tota Economos ..... the rarest of all Skalkottas recordings, his Sifneikos I and Ipirotikas I played by pianist Tota Economos, highly admired by the composer, from a French radio broadcast in 1949.
This appears to be the same piece, based on the labelling of the Universal orchestral score, which has Ipirotikas I and II.

Note for searching: Ipiritokos is sometimes rendered as Epirotikos or Epirot Dance.

POSTSCRIPT: These come from 6 Greek Dances for piano (AK 76, 1947)
I. Kritikos
II. Ipirotikos
III. Sifneikos
IV. Kleftikos
V. Tessallikos
VI. Kalamatianos

26 Sifneikos I (1946-7), (AK 11b) - AK 76
27 Ipirotikos I (1946-7), (AK 11b) - AK 76
