The Music of Paul Hindemith

Post by jre58591 »

I am opening this thread for any and all Hindemith, who I have seen (through a search) has not had much mention here yet.

I would like to start off this thread with a request: Does anyone have his Konzertmusik for Brass, Harps, and Piano?

I'm glad you've opened a thread for Paul Hindemith, JRE. Thanks.

Incidentally members should note that I don't think we have enough single composer threads - for major or prolific composers there is no problem with such threads.

JRE, I have a lot of Hindemith full scores on my shelves - my first composition teacher was addicted to Hindemith, which he might have caught from Kenneth Leighton - anyway, sadly I do not have the Konzertmusik op49, or even the op50 Konzertmusik. I should be able to rectify that by scanning a library copy in the new year - Westminster has both (and much more) I believe.

Perhaps I can supply some of the symphonies too; and I'm also hoping I may be able to complete our set of the instrumental sonatas at some point soon...
