Music for Special & Festive Occasions [+ Christmas]

Post by lebowl »

I would like to play some Thanksgiving music at the Senior center. Does anyone have the music to Thanksgiving appropriate songs like Come ye Thankful People Come or We Gather Together or...?

Thanks.

Thanks for the link. I found another place with hymn scores also. The good way to search is not for "Thanksgiving hymns"(where I wasted a long time) but under the specific name of the hymn.

better still Ives Piano Sonata No.1, "bringing in the sheaves" is a riot and "what a friend we have in jesus" is great fun and he uses all three verses
good luck

I would have thought Turkey in the Straw was more appropriate
Guion Turkey in the Straw.pdf
Bonnell Turkey in the Straw.pdf

Christmas Music

Post by lebowl »

Does anyone have any nice arrangements of Xmas songs? About the only thing I have is Reger's version of Silent Night and some jazz version of I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas that was on one of the older score sites.

THANKS!

Christmas Music

Post by arglmann »

Dear fellow pianophiliacs,

to open this thread I will add a piece by Rebikov,
Rebikoff op. 23 Nr. 2.pdf
newly typeset from a scan friendly added by another member I think.
Forgive me that I can't remember, but TTOS!

I wonder if anyone heard of the following Christmas pieces I would love to find:

Albert M. Dieckmann, op. 6: Ein Weihnachtstraum (Christmas Dream) - Große Fantasie
Johann Feyhl, op. 60: Schneegloeckchen-Polka
Cornelius Gurlitt, op. 135: 39 pieces, among them: O sanctissima
Carl Heins: various Christmas pieces
Max Paul Heller: various Christmas pieces
Gustav Holst (!): op. 46 Nr. 1 - Chrissemas Day in the morning
Carl Reinecke: op. 221 and 251, Christmas pieces
Ernst Simon: various Christmas pieces

If anyone might know where to find some of them: any help would be welcome!

Best regards,

Arglmann

Mod edit: we already have a thread that deals with Special and Festive oocasions (including Christmas) and so I have merged your thread into that one. FB
