Here's a piano reduction of a modern Armenian ballet. What I've heard of Aristakesyan's music makes me feel like his style (liberal use of dissonance, clusters, ritualistic repetition) would work well on the stage or screen. His second symphony dates from around the same time and can be heard at:

Thank you so much for posting this - it is really fascinating to see Soviet-era piano transcriptions of this repertoire. Burshtein was obviously a skilled transcriber, and I wonder if he did any more work like this.

There is also a second romance by Gadzhibekov (Hajibeyov) - "Beloved" (az. "Sevgili Janan"); there were two romances written on the text of Nizami gazelles. Burshtein also wrote this transcription; I'll scan it in the next week.
