I've been searching and searching for Louise Farrenc's Op. 48 - Valse Brillante - if anyone knows where it may be found that would be a great help! Thanks !
I find no entries for the score in Worldcat, but the Valse Brillante Op48 was recorded about ten years ago by Konstanze Eickhorst--have you tried contacting her?

Yes, I have, thank you. I am still hoping for a response... At least I know that the score exists! I suppose it rests in a European library or another.... hmmmm... still searching ...

If the information is correct, the piece is available as "print on demand" here:

Perhaps the staff of the University of Oldenburg who prepared a Farrenc edition can help you finding the op.48: See here:

Thank you so much for this assistance! I'm not sure that I see what you're seeing ... when I click the link it only says that the piece is "not online." Did you see the Op. 48 actually listed?

Thanks again!
I am not sure whether they definitely do have the work, but you can make an inquiry anyway.
Best regards, Alfor S. Cans

I have heard from Ms. Eickhorst, who played this piece and she responded thus,
"I got the music from the Conservatoire in Paris. They have microfilms there in the bobliotheque."
I searched the Hector Berlioz library, hoping that is the one to which she refers; however, I am not sure, as I was unable to find an entry for this piece or a microform entry of Farrenc's works.... Does anyone have a clue as to where Ms. Eickhorst refers - if I can just find an entry, I could request the piece... thanks all!

You could try and make an inquiry here (apparently they both have the original score and a microfilm):

To get your copy, just click "Acheter une reproduction" and select what you want.
The Médiathèque Hector Berlioz is not yet searchable online:
"Cette page est en cours de développement et sera accessible très prochainement."
Thank you very much Alfor - so it was there in the Bibliotheque after all! That was still a tricky one and I am glad to have found the entry! Thank you again for your efforts! Wonder what other treasures lie in France ... and withheld from dear WorldCat. hahah
Just a question - I had seen Chaminade's Op. 01 - Two Mazurkas posted at the BnF recently but now when I search for them, I cannot find the digital images/files. Does anyone know where to find them or perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place?
