Quite a challenging piece by Josephine Martin, just uploaded to Gallica - not a bad scan either:

Elan du cœur - Andante-Caprice, Op. 11

I haven't seen this ballet from Chaminade's Callirhoe on IMSLP so I thought that I would give it a scan... her Danse Orientale...

Chaminade seems to write a lot of these charming little pieces. Thanks for posting, musiclife217 .

That would be wonderful, of course! If anyone is interested in the complete piano version of Callirhoe penned by Ms. Chaminade, do let me know.

I just ran across a review of one of Ethel Leginska's performances:

"Enthusiasm ran high among listeners, although there was little about Leginska's own compositions to prompt any enthusiasm. If Miss Leginska's "The Gargoyles of Notre Dame" and a "Scherzo After Tagore" are to be classed as music, there's no reason why anyone shouldn't take up composition, no matter whether he be a boilermaker or a prizefighter."

Sounds promising to me ;) Is anyone here having these, or other works, by her?
