Louis Ferdinand Gottschalk (1864 – 1934) was an American composer and conductor born in St. Louis, Missouri. The son of a Missouri governor, also named Louis, he studied music in Stuttgart, Germany.
Louis Moreau Gottschalk was his great-uncle. This particular piece is from the 1913 scrapped musical The Patchwork Girl of Oz.

Is anyone in possession of music by Prof Leon Iltis (1893-1985), chair of music department at University of Wisconsin, Madison c.1963 ?

I found him through this recent recording of a charming little piece "In a Rocking Chair" (1922)

It may have been a pedagogical piece part of THE ILTIS PIANO BOOKS FOR CLASS & INDIVIDUAL BY LEON L ILTIS WITH ORIGINAL DRAWINGS BY KATE SEREDY,1929,CARL FISCHER

I've emailed the pianist on Soundcloud as well.

Discovered via YouTube, a series of short piano works by the Canadian composer, pianist and organist AUGUSTE DESCARRIES (1896-1958); also a music professor in Montreal.
Bio: https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/ ... arries-emc

There's a society to support his work: https://www.associationaugustedescarries.com/ who have printed music for sale, but there is a larger set upon IMSLP (under Creative Commons license): https://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Descarries,_Auguste

Sample:

(His Aubade similarly has a score video, but is not currently on IMSLP)

Great composer. The Piano Sonata is amazing, especially the Toccata.
