Last night I watched one of the BBC Wallander episodes 3x02 The Dogs of Riga, which as its name suggests is set in Latvia. A simple piano waltz is featured about midway through, which at first I thought may have been by Medins, but as the program notes indicate, is Melanholliskais Valsis (Valse melancholique) by Emils Darzins (1875-1910). It is also his only surviving orchestral piece (YouTube).

The piano score is at IMSLP. It reminds me of Sibelius' Valse triste but with more pastoral flourishes.

Here's a small set of folk-inspired works that Lithuanian composer Vytautas Bacevičius composed not long after his emigration to the USA.

Vytautas BACEVIČIUS
Four Lithuanian Dances, op. 35 (1945)
Bacevicius - Four Lithuanian Dances, op. 35 (1945).pdf

Seconded! Much less complicated than what I posted by Bacevicius.
