I'm looking for the Second piano concerto op. 21, in the quintet version. Not the Breitkopf edition, which offers only the string parts of the orchestral version, but either the Josepf Hofmann's version, or the Marek Drewnowski's version. Thanks!

Hello! I have trouble with finding score of Chopin's posthumous Waltz no. 19 in a minor, and I can't get this theme out of my head! Help would be highly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Those of you who have not yet discovered the University of Chicago library website have a treat in store. I made pdf files of their scans of the 1841 album of six pieces published by la France Musicale. Here is the link to the Chopin Mazurka in a minor:

In the process of making a pdf file of the original edition of the Chopin Preludes I found the Milan edition of the etudes bound up with the Preludes. This edition of the etudes does not even appear in the online catalog page! So far I have uploaded opus 28 and opus 10. Hope to get the other etudes this evening.

It is a very revealing website indeed, but what intrigues me is that it exposes the over-editing in most of the accepted 'modern' editions of Chopin's works, given that the works published during his lifetime in all likelihood had his imprimatur.

Over-editing is extremely common in choral music and quite frankly often incorporates stupid ideas which reveal that the editor might not be a singer at all, and which each chorus master contradicts in any case. I suppose it gives people jobs! Give me an urtext any day.

The file you uploaded seems incomplete (15 pages)

apparently there are no differences among the various old editions available at the Chicago site (Haslinger, Schlesinger, Brandus and Wessel)

the only difference (the difficult 4th variation in the first autograph score) should have been inserted in the Paderewski edition that I don't have
it was 'discovered' by F.Zagiba in 1949

that variation has been played (if I remember correctly from a recital in Milano) by Michael Ponti
