I would say arbitrary. Although they are all female names, many of them seem to be more heroine names in novels rather than in real life.
Op. XXXIX

Good evening friends.

Earlier this afternoon my local classical station played Czerny's Grand Sonata in F minor Op 178 for 4 hands. (Tal/Groesthuysen recording.) I was in the car, and tuned in too late to hear the announcement of the piece and composer. I admit I couldn't guess the composer- too many notes for Mozart or even Clementi, and not harmonically sophisticated enough for Schubert. But I was pleasantly surprised that is was Czerny. A fun piece!!

Anyone have the score? I would be curious to have a look at it, not available on IMSLP.
Many thanks!

I've not seen a copy on the net but Edition Kunzelmann has a nice edition in print.

Thank you for the hint, however those had been already circulating. U of K has a big collection, but not comparable to the SBB one.

I keep seeing this little Wiener Marsch (Viennese March) by Czerny... is there an opus number or is this just a free-roaming piece? :)

Czerny enthusiasts should have noticed that this piece : Introduction and Variation Brillantes on Pacini's Gli Arabi Nelle Gallie, Op. 234 has been premiered last year by Naxos.

I am lucky to find that there is a proof copy of this piece in the Sibley Library Collection and requested for it. It will be uploaded earliest by July. Stay tuned for the latest publications by Sibley.
