Hello Aprosdoketon,

Your offer to typeset the Siloti transcription of Vocalise
reminded me of your message of 2016:
did you ever manage to finish typesetting
Czerny's Op. 493, the Fantasie brillante on Mozart's Figaro?
The scan on IMSLP is very hard to read,
while the 8 bars you posted were beautifully typeset.

Yes, indeed, that's a huge difference!

Hi! I did some work but in 2017 my hard drive died, making me lose all .sib files (sob!)
Nice to see a cleaner version by Paolo!

In the meantime I posted a little engraving of mine in the German Composers thread.

Czerny seems to have produced several piano pieces based on
themes from Donizetti's opera Torquato Tasso, including his
Op.448, Op.532, and Op.843/5. Knowing almost nothing about CC,
I've no idea what opus number (if any) is attached to this piece,
which took 5 minutes to scan and 5 days to clean up!

Good job indeed. Thank you Tim. Unusally easy under the fingers for Czerny.

Tim, this is an easy fantasy Czerny published within the "Pfennig magazine" w/o opus number. Cz. wrote many larger pieces based on that opera:

- Fantasy op.625 n.6 vl.pf.
- Rondino op.843 n.5
- Melodie op.440 n.3 (missing in my collection)
- Capriccio op.448 "
- Fantaisie op.532
- Rondo op.583 n.12

Evidently he was a little obsessed by an opera which is noe very seldom performed !

does anyone have an alternate or more modern edition of Czerny's Op. 818 - 50 Etudes ?

Either way, I think that this opus deserves some light, among the piles of Czerny works/etudes.
I like the title regarding 'Volubility,' which I may translate as 'ease of expression."
