Hot off the scanner!! As promised, I'm now posting Zamacois's Aguafeurtes. For me, this is a real find of Spanish piano music. In Jordi Maso's Naxos Catalan Album, he featured the Sardana from this set. I will upload an mp3 here too (this is from the album <Musica de la II Republica>, the whole set of Aguafeurtes is featured in this CD. People, please order from Trito if you like this piece. This album contains something more from Ricard Lamote de Grignon and Joaquin Serra, which are equally good). I really want to promote this rare stuff. I'll upload the score pdf in next post. The file is too big. Sorry...

Enjoy!! :D

Thank you so much, Koon for this recording of the terrific Sardana and for the score of the complete set of 5 pieces. Nos. 5 Capricho and 2 Bequeriana are also wonderful.

Forgive me for being almost 7 years late in thanking you, but I don't always notice the treasures that are posted at the time they are posted.

I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed Aguafuertes. It was a completely beautiful surprise and is well written for the piano.

El Polo and Lavapiés are probably the most advanced
and most demanding pieces of ALBENIZ' Iberia.

Displayíng a rather simple melodic contents, El Polo is the most prominent example
of A.'s "cluster technique". The "clusters" - always based on rather simple chords (triads, dominant 7th chords, etc.) -
hardly ever sounding really dissonant, but rather like a special sort of "colouring".
The piece needs a reasonable amount of re-arranging to make it playable at all,
which unfortunately does not facilitate memorizing.

Dear Jim.

thank you very much for the link. I was searching for this edition, which is well-fingered (re-arranged)!

There are some other fingered and re-arranged editions by
Albert Nieto
Guillermo Gonzalez
and
Thomas Schumacher / Kikuko Nakamura / Noriko Ohtake

Nieto and Gonzalez tend to overdo the re-arranging, which I tried to avoid.

All best

alfor

be prepared for
Lavapiés,
some new Niemann,
Prokofieff,
"Silly Mountain",
Rachmaninoff,
etc.

Alfred, thank you for the fingered El Polo. As I play this piece often, I was intrigued to see your ideas.....and my deviations for yours. Guess I'll be changing some of my left-fingerings.

Thanks for posting!

Dear fleubis,

thank you for feedback! You may want to wait for my "Version B", though!?

Ah, yes! A forthcoming "B" incarnation. This particular piece I have a great love for as several decades ago I watched de Larrocha play this only 10 feet from where I sat in a master class. Alas I have no recollection of her fingerings. But the lasting memory I have of that performance has me always looking for a way to make my pllaying of it better in small details.

Request Antonio Fragoso Nocturne no. 1 in bes minor.

Does anyone have the first nocturne by Antonio Fragoso? It is in bes minor.
On the internet I can only find his 2nd nocturne in Des major.
Thanks very much in advance.

Greetings,
Kroket
