Thank you very much indeed for this and the other Söderman pieces. After years of exploring lesser-known 19th century repertoire, I am amazed that such a fine and inventive composer could have escaped my notice!

When I was young, I was for a time part of an amateur dance company specialised in the old Court dances, and we danced le menuet a lot. This piece brings me nice memories even if the modern menuets sound a little different from those by Lully and Campra that we used to dance on.

Fred,

Thank you so much for this link to the Nielsen works shared by the Royal Danish Library. This is exceptional. Volume 12 with the piano and organ works is simply massive, and a truly wonderful score to have. Greatly appreciated!

All Best,

Frank

Beyond the Piano Concerto, the Danish Composer's Society lists only two works:

- Albumblatt für Klavier (1912........but remains in manuscript)

- Cadence to Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major (premiered 1918, published by Hansen).

All the other pieces, where the piano is incorporated, are chambers works.

The Royal Library in Copenhagen also lists a piano reduction of his 3rd symphony. Also in manuscript though.

But still no Works for piano as such.
