Ilu,
Would you have Chavez' Noche aguafuerte? I can't even find who publishes this (maybe Carlanita?). It's a very Debussy-ian Chavez. An early work, perhaps?

It was composed on 1920, his early years, as you assume, 8 Chávez was born in 1899), and, as far as I know, it is not edited, but I will try to find it for you – manuscript maybe- , just give some time.

Regards.

I share this nice piece, Hoja de Album by Carlos Chavez, composed in the same year, 1920.

Thanks Ilu!!
I see a few recordings of Noche aguafuerte (I really like the one by Mauricio Nader), so I thought it was published. Heavy Debussy influence, no doubt from his studies with Ponce.

I have always loved the Paginas Sencillas set, again from the same recording by Nader. Thanks for the share! I have just ordered the score, but could you post a few more from this set?

This is the only one that I have from an album, I guess, , my list of Chavez scores:
1.-Four piano studies.
2.-Left hand inversions of Chopin studies.
3.-Piano Sonata No. 2, op.21.
4.-Piano Sonata 3.
5.-Barcarola.
6.-Meditación.
7.-Valses íntimos.

If someone is interested, I will be glad to post them.

Ilu.

I have an opportunity to maybe play with a mariachi band in a 'concert' setting, I was wondering if anyone knew of any mariachi pieces composed for piano and mariachi ensemble (standard mix of violins, trumpets and probably some guitars and voice)/band? or less desirable but still an option any solos for solo instrument and piano accompanyment? i know it's a bit of a long shot as piano is not part of the usual ensemble but there's a nice bunch of kids in a band and i was speaking with their teacher and he thought it'd be cool if the music was out there and accessible (i.e. to their level, we're not talking super proficient, just a nice group of kids from a local high school in a small community group).

thanks for any help of direction/instruction.

if the scores are 'postable' and someone can upload that would be wonderful.
