Any update on this?
It was published in Copenhagen in 1927 by Wilhelm Hansen, with the title:-
Dorfmusikanten-Sextett von Mozart,
Koncert-Transkription für Klavier zu 2 Händen von Francis Poulenc.
Mozart's final 3 bars of K522 are 200 years ahead of their time!

Hello Wieniawski - if you contact me on: malcolm.ballan@gmail.com - I have several Joseph Rubinstein scores I can share privately. Out of interest JR did the whole of Parsifal as a vocal score, although odd bits were also published separately (Bild no. 1) - I have the whole score, as well as the exerts from Siegfrid.

This just appeared on IMSLP - Siloti's transcription of the Gavotte from Mozart's Idomeneo. Original scan from Stanford University. I converted the innerds to B&W.

parag wrote: Mon Nov 22, 2010 5:02 pm Does anyone have a good quality scan of the complete Thalberg's Op.70? I was looking for No.20 (Transcription of Voi Che Sapete) in my collection and there was this typeset score which I particularly dislike :ugeek:

This is a desirable set... Any help would be great.

Regards,
Parag

PS: Is there a recording of the complete Op.70?

You played it, or you've made only the video?
If you played it, could you tell us why you don't play what's written? Changing octaves, rythms, adding parts, and so on?

Strictly speaking, the Gavotte isn't from the opera Idomeneo K366 itself, but from the associated Ballet Music K367 - the fourth of its five movements. Other 2H transcriptions of the Gavotte were done by Martucci, Reinecke and Waldersee. In commercial recordings, the Ballet Music is often tacked onto the end of the opera e.g. in the EMI Charles Mackerras version. The reworking of the opera by Richard Strauss is interesting, but perhaps not suitable for Mozart purists. There's a Dynamic live recording of it, conducted by Corrado Rovaris.

I only made the score video, it's played by Mordecai Shehori as written in the description.
