Add my "seconded" Scriabinoff for the Beethoven. These German dances are among the first Beethoven pieces I learned as a child and, yes--from the self-same crusty Schirmer edition if I recall correctly. When I see work like this I get more determined to spend more time with Sibelius and get my chops up to a more respectable level that these dances display.

Paul Nordoff (June 4, 1909 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – January 18, 1977 in Herdecke, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany) was an American composer and music therapist, anthroposophist and initiator of the Nordoff-Robbins method of music therapy. His music is generally tonal and neo-Romantic in style.

Here's a copy for you. NMS, but I did a minor cleanup on it.

I thought I had all of Siloti's transcriptions, but this is a new one for me. Thanks for posting this. Big fan of Siloti.

a new name for me again, composer and, here, transcriber, René Chansarel.......

An Etude in Canon Form...based on a piece by Robert Schumann?

Would be interested to hear any commentary regarding the piece and its connection to Robert Schumann...
