WalterNiemann wrote: Mon Jun 03, 2019 11:04 am That's an interesting fact! I didn't know that ^^
"Der gelbe Tango" might have been inspired by Kandinsky's "Der gelbe Klang":
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Yellow_Sound
https://www.wassilykandinsky.net/yellowsound.php
It says that "yellow is warm, orientated towards the viewer, moving outwards
(eccentrically); blue is cold, oriented from the viewer, inwardly (concentric)".

Intimate warmth, nearness to the human being, and eccentric expressiveness
are also characteristic features of tango -- be it absolute music or danced to.

@Jean-Séb @orfeo
I hope you like it! I try my best to edit some more Niemann!

@orfeo
It could possibly be that Niemann got inspired by Kandinsky's work.
However, Niemann often visited the local art museum in Leipzig where he got inspired by several paintings. (see http://www.romana-hamburg.de/Niemann.htm at the very bottom; 'Das Bildermuseum (zerstört). Hier weilte Niemann stundenlang und bekam Anregungen für seine Kompositionen.' -> 'The art museum (destroyed). Niemann spent hours at this place and got inspiration for his compositions') But Niemann was more interested in Ancient Greek's, Japan's and China's arts.

Of course, I like it a lot! Every new Niemann Edition is a great joy to read and perform. You edit veeery beautifully.

Niemann really was so very well-educated, a man of universal culture, curiosity, and Knowledge - almost like Goethe.
(Wow, just imagine if Goethe had ALSO been a musician - that would have made him even greater than he already is...)

And some new :D

Zwei kleine Walzer, Opus 101 (1924) URTEXT
Niemann W - op. 101, Zwei kleine Walzer 1924.pdf

An announcement: Seems that the 'pianorarescores guy' (whoever it is, please do me a favour and kys) stole my typeset editions of Niemann's Altenglischer Weihnachtstanz, 3 Lyric Pieces and Japanischer Wandbehang! I used to think that this 'kind person' would have the nuts to not upload something where 'Copyright 2019' is marked... (seems they are a pretty dumb person). Therefore I'm not going to upload my editions here on pp. Of course you can send me a message where you can ask for the editions but as long as the 'pianorarescores guy' steals my work, I am unfortunately forced to quit uploading Niemann here on pp, sorry :(
