It looks a very interesting work, and I am looking forward to playing through it tomorrow.
I have not always thanked you for so many of your scans that I have downloaded, but please be sure that I

Alfred, thank you for the Marmontel Sonata.....I've been playing through it, and is certainly has an odd familiarity about it which I can't place. I really like nice substantial works like this.

This sonata op.13 by Antonin Marmontel has been recorded by Laurent Wagschal, although the label wrongly mentions sonata op.13 by Antoine-François Marmontel, his father.
The CD also features a sonata op.8 by the father, and a sonata by Louis Adam.

Is this composer different from Marmontel, Antoine-François (b Clermont-Ferrand, 16 July 1816; d Paris, 16 Jan 1898)? The style of the music suggests a date somewhat earlier than the 1870s/80s ...

Antonin Marmontel (1850-1907) is the son of Antoine-François Marmontel.

It is actually opus 13, not 43.

Dear Jean-Séb,

thank you very much for competent info!!

This is surely Dad (who is/was probably much better known than his son):

Thank you dear Alfor.
Let us assume it is Antoine François but I must say the situation is quite confused as most of the scores are only identified by A. Marmontel which would also suit his son Antonin.
