Many thanks to Malcolm, Alfor, and caostotale for their wonderful postings! What a treat to be away for a few days and come back to find these wonderful scores waiting to be played.

...and here are two more sonatas. These two were published in a collection with Eiges' ninth sonata, a work that was already posted by the Oleg Eiges website. Hurray for 200 pages!

...and finally, these two works. Both of these were published in an early 80s publication with Eiges' earlier Ballade no. 1 and the five Etudes, both of which have already shown up on this forum. I've included a scan of that volume's biographical note, written by Yevgeny Golubev.

The composer's note, from the second page:

'Measuring the rhythm of the hot sands of the Karakum Desert, the exuberant running of Akhal-Teke horses, the immense sun over one's head...exquisitely fancy ornamental Tekin carpets, sonorous palette of colors...Caravans, wandering in the desert...All of this gave rise in my mind the picture of the past that is associated with frescoes, although Tekins, maybe they did not know.

In composing these musical works, I wanted to express the unique beauty of my land in the fashion of such frescoes.'

Thanks for all the O. Eiges, Caostotale! I might have to get the sonatas printed and start learning them...
